A new Content Production Center for mass media is being created within the Media Center of the Presidential Administration’s press service in Uzbekistan. The initiative is outlined in a presidential decree titled “On Measures to Improve Efficiency, Proactivity, and Effectiveness in the Public Administration System,” as reported by the Ministry of Justice via its Telegram channel.
The document also introduces a number of other structural changes. Notably, the Information and Mass Communications Agency has been dissolved, and its monitoring functions have been transferred to the Inspectorate for Control in the Field of Informatization and Telecommunications.
Two institutions have been placed under the authority of the Presidential Administration: the Center for Mass Communications and the Culture and Art Development Foundation, which previously operated under the Cabinet of Ministers.
Additionally, a new Agency for Control over Narcotics and Firearms has been formed on the basis of the National Center for Drug Control, while the former Public Service Development Agency has been transformed into the Agency for Management Efficiency.
According to the presidential decree, by September 1 of this year, draft normative legal acts will be developed to:
👉 improve the efficiency of republican and local executive bodies by eliminating bureaucratic obstacles, abolishing overlapping supervisory functions, and ensuring transparency and openness in decision-making processes;
👉 further expand the economic, administrative, and financial powers of local hokimiyats (regional administrations) to support regional development, employment, and income growth.
Earlier, it was reported that President Mirziyoyev had restructured his Administration, eliminating 284 positions and consolidating overlapping roles.
