The government of Uzbekistan has approved the addition of seven more countries to the list of states whose citizens may enter the republic without a visa for up to 30 days. The new beneficiaries are citizens of Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, China, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

The same document also shortens the processing time for business visas to two days for citizens of 12 countries: Austria, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Malaysia, France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Japan. Business visas for citizens of the UAE, Iran, and Pakistan will be issued within three days.

Earlier, a presidential decree introduced a 30-day visa-free regime for citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman starting June 1 of this year. As for citizens of Saudi Arabia, the president had previously ordered the abolition of visa requirements as of January 1, 2023—on the condition that they present outbound flight tickets to their home country or a third destination.

There are now 86 countries whose citizens can enter Uzbekistan without a visa. China was previously listed as the 86th country, with its citizens allowed visa-free stays of up to seven days. This period has now been extended to 30 days, and item 86 will be removed from the list. The newly added states will be assigned numbers 85-1 through 85-7.
