Starting January 1, 2026, Uzbekistan will implement a 30-day visa-free regime for all citizens of the United States visiting the Central Asian country. This was reported by UzA, citing a presidential decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the agency, the decree was signed on November 3. The measure aims to create conditions for further development of trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian relations between Uzbekistan and the U.S., as well as to promote tourism.

Currently, Uzbekistan allows visa-free entry for American citizens aged 55 and older who travel for tourism purposes. This provision has been in effect since 2021.

The new presidential decree extends the visa-free regime to all U.S. residents regardless of age or purpose of visit, starting next year.

The plan was previously mentioned in Mirziyoyev’s decree on significantly increasing tourist flows, signed in May of this year. At that time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instructed to begin negotiations with U.S. representatives to ease visa requirements for Uzbek citizens entering the United States.

The introduction of the visa-free regime for Americans comes ahead of the “Central Asia–U.S.” (C5+1) summit, scheduled for November 6 in Washington. The event will be attended by U.S. President Donald Trump and the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

In late October 2025, the Uzbek government approved adding seven more countries to the list of nations whose citizens can enter Uzbekistan visa-free for 30 days. These countries are Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, China, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
