Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has signed an order relieving Rustam Mamasadykov of his post as secretary of the country’s Security Council, the presidential press service reported.
By a separate order, Mamasadykov has been appointed first deputy chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB). He previously held this position until December 1, 2025, when he was appointed Security Council secretary.
ℹ️ Mamasadykov was first appointed deputy chairman of the GKNB in 2008. He was dismissed after the April Revolution in 2010. In 2011, he returned to the security service and headed the GKNB’s antiterrorism center. In April 2018, he again left the post of deputy head of the GKNB, but in February 2019 he was reappointed to the position.
Mamasadykov’s return to the GKNB follows the resignation of the agency’s head, Kamchybek Tashiev, and three of his deputies. Daniyel Rysaliev, director of the Cybersecurity Coordination Center; Kurvanbek Avazov, first deputy chairman; and Elizar Smanov, director of the Antiterrorism Center, also left their posts.
