The exhibition “Heritage Through the Ages: Uzbek Miniature,” dedicated to the 585th anniversary of Alisher Navoi, has opened in Berlin. The event was reported by the press service of the Center for Islamic Civilization.
The miniatures featured in the exhibition were created in the traditions of the Timurid school. The works are based on the literary heritage of Alisher Navoi and Zahir-ud-din Muhammad Babur. The central part of the exhibition is devoted to poems from the Khamsa (“Quintet”), Navoi’s principal poetic work. The display also includes genre scenes depicting everyday life — traditional teahouses, bazaars, and folk games.
The exhibition presents works by faculty members of the Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Fine Art and Design and the Pavel Benkov Republican Specialized School of Painting — Avazbek Kodirov, Zilola Sulaymonova, Shokhrukh Butaev, Sabrina Jonibekova — as well as their students Olim Omonov and Ibrat Fayzullayev.
The event was organized with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the cultural society San’at–Forum.
