Kazakhstan Seizes Real Estate and Luxury Cars of Charity Fund Head

Kazakhstan has seized the assets of Perizat Kairat, head of the charitable organization Biz Birgemiz, according to a report by Orda.kz.

The Agency for Financial Monitoring has confirmed that the following assets have been frozen:

👉 Apartments and parking spaces in four prestigious residential complexes in Astana, as well as a villa in a gated community.
👉 Luxury vehicles, including a Mercedes-Benz S450, Mercedes-Benz EQE 500, Lexus LX-600, and Haval.
👉 A collection of high-end electronics, jewelry, and accessories from global brands such as Cartier, Rolex, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Chopard, Hermès, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, and others.

The confiscated assets have been classified as evidence and incorporated into the investigation. Their fate will be decided in court.

Background: Perizat Kairat is suspected of embezzling 1.7 billion tenge ($3.4 million) collected for flood victims in Kazakhstan and residents of Palestine. According to investigators, most of these donations were allegedly spent on luxury items, real estate, and overseas trips. Kairat was arrested on November 16 for a two-month period. In addition to charges of embezzlement and misappropriation, she may face fraud allegations. If convicted, Kairat could face up to 10 years in prison with asset confiscation.
