Three people were killed, and ten others were injured as a result of a gas explosion at a mosque in the Izboskan district of Andijan region. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Uzbekistan.
The explosion occurred at noon on March 31 in the washing area of the mosque located in the «Mirzo Ulugbek» neighborhood. Initially, there was information about six injured people, which later increased to nine. In the end, 13 people were injured, three of whom died. The other ten were taken to the hospital.
According to the MES, the walls and roof of the building collapsed. An initial investigation into the incident is currently underway.
The MES has already identified the names of the victims and those injured. The services of «Hududgazta'minot» and the district fire safety department are working to eliminate the aftermath of the incident. Deputy Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov and the Minister for Emergency Situations Botir Kudratkhodjaev, who were in the Fergana Valley, have arrived at the scene of the incident.
