President of Kyrgyzstan Replaces Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration

Ravshanbek Sabirov has been relieved of his duties as minister of labor, social security, and migration of Kyrgyzstan. He was appointed director of the National Investment Agency under the president. The corresponding decrees were signed by Sadyr Japarov on August 25.

By another decree, Kanat Sagynbaev, who previously worked in the presidential administration as head of the sectoral policy department and deputy head of the office for preparing decisions of the president and government, was appointed acting minister of labor.

Kanat Sagynbaev was born on January 26, 1980, in Bishkek. He graduated from the American University of Central Asia in 2000 and in 2014 from Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, specializing in international relations. He worked for several years in the public and entrepreneurial sectors.

Since 2005, Sagynbaev has held positions in state structures, including the State Commission for Religious Affairs and the State Migration Service, and served as an expert in the government’s office in the areas of social development, transport, construction, and communications. In 2021, he was appointed deputy head of the relevant department in the government’s office. From 2023 to 2024, he held senior positions in the Presidential Administration, working on expert evaluations and preparing decisions for the head of state and the cabinet of ministers.

His father, Latipzhan Sagynbaev, is known as a public and state figure who headed the State Commission for Religious Affairs and participated in the work of the National Commission on the June 2010 events.
