The first freight train has been dispatched along the multimodal transport corridor linking China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. The train departed from Lanzhou and is bound for the Dushanbe-2 station in Dushanbe, according to the Uzbek company.

Uztemiryulcontainer, one of the founders of the joint venture UTK International Logistics established in China, organized the pilot shipment along the route connecting China with Central Asia.

The project represents a practical step in implementing agreements on deepening regional cooperation and expanding ties reached at a 2025 meeting in Dushanbe between the presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, the press release said.

The inaugural train consists of eight 40-foot containers carrying consumer goods and construction equipment. The total route length exceeds 3,500 kilometers, with transit time expected not to exceed 18–20 days.

It was emphasized that, with support for logistics initiatives from Uzbekiston Temir Yullari (Uzbek Railways), preferential tariffs have been introduced for carriers on this multimodal route. This signals the company’s readiness to ensure stable and regular freight traffic along the China–Central Asia corridor.

In July last year, Chinese authorities for the first time dispatched a freight train from Wuhan, Hubei Province, along the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan multimodal international cargo route, thereby integrating another Chinese region into the logistics network linking the country with Central Asian republics.
