U.S. President Donald Trump has said he will invite the presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to attend the G20 summit, which will be held in Miami in 2026. Trump made the announcement in a post on the social media platform Truth Social.

“This morning I had two wonderful phone calls with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. We discussed the importance of establishing peace in current conflicts, as well as expanding trade and cooperation between our countries. Relations with both countries are excellent. Next year, the United States will host the G20 Summit, and we will be sending invitations to both leaders to join us as guests at this very important event, which will take place in Miami!” Trump wrote.

According to the press service of President Mirziyoyev, his conversation with the U.S. president focused on expanding bilateral trade and strategic cooperation. In particular, the sides discussed the implementation of projects worth tens of billions of dollars in such areas as civil aviation, the automotive industry, mining, agriculture, infrastructure, energy and chemicals, information and communications technologies, and other sectors.

The presidents also addressed regional cooperation in the C5+1 format and agreed to maintain active contacts. Mirziyoyev praised Trump’s achievements in international diplomacy and noted the growing intensity of political engagement between the two countries. He also invited Trump to visit Uzbekistan.

The press service of President Tokayev said that his conversation with Trump was lengthy. The two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation and pressing international issues, with particular attention to the situation surrounding Ukraine. Tokayev noted that resolving the conflict would be extremely difficult due to the predominance of territorial issues and would require compromises from both sides, taking into account realities “on the ground.”

Kazakhstan, he said, has called on the parties to the conflict to show patience and flexibility and to continue searching for a “peace formula,” emphasizing that while the country does not act as a mediator, it is prepared, if necessary, to offer a venue for talks as a gesture of goodwill.

At the conclusion of the conversation, Tokayev highlighted Trump’s leadership qualities and invited him to visit Kazakhstan, expressing confidence that such a visit could become historic.

The G20 (Group of Twenty) is an international forum that brings together the world’s largest economies—19 countries plus the African Union and the European Union as collective members—to discuss global financial and economic issues. Its members account for about 85 percent of global GDP and 75 percent of international trade. The forum addresses economic policy coordination, financial stability, sustainable growth, and reform of international financial institutions. G20 summits are held annually in the country holding the presidency, which traditionally invites guest leaders from outside the group. The 2026 summit is scheduled to take place in Miami, at the Trump National Doral Miami resort, and will be the first G20 summit hosted by the United States since 2009.
